I would like to start this months newsletter with an apology, it has been quite a while since our last newsletter and although the weather has been quite bad there has actually been a lot of flying. Malc has recently attached a bomb to the bottom of a plane opening a whole new idea of precision bombing. With this in mind Pete decided that a little man and parachute would be a good idea. After watching these I found myself looking at my planes thinking what can I attach to which plane.

At the start of this year our field unfortunately resembled a war torn battlefield. this was solely destroyed by pesky Crows. No matter how many crows the gun club managed to shoot the field just kept getting worse. I’m sure like me, if you saw the field in that state you would have felt deflated and a little fed up. However Brian and Pete did not feel this way and have worked very hard, rolling, cutting, seeding and even walking around picking up rubble and stones, if anything the field is now looking better than it did before and I know doubt the entire club are very grateful of all their hard work.

Just to give you notice that Boston indoor flying is back on so dig out your depron and small electrics for the indoor fun. Next one on 24/9. Please see calendar for dates.

You may remember that a very long time ago I was building a RCME free plan called a Wave which is an electric water plane, this being the first plan build I have ever attempted. It turned out to take a very long time to complete, but at last, it is finally finished, just have to wait for the wind to drop in order to test fly.

For my final thought in this newsletter, I set myself a challenge this year which I may hopefully complete, but this is now weather dependant. This is a challenge that we can all set ourselves. Basically I was sitting looking at my collection of planes and cleaning them, when I thought, ‘Why have I spent all this time building this collection of planes, when I only ever fly the AcroWot’. I know that I wanted to keep some for a special occasions or for that perfect day that never comes, so I set myself a challenge to fly  all of my planes this year, no matter how much I am scared of them (the magnum). I started this challenge and am currently doing well but was amazed how many planes I have either never finished or only flown once. I have so far made a good start, but due to the initial rush, I now have two to repair. Wish me luck.
